Task Scheduler / Alert processing – June 2008

The Propella Alert processor has been redeveloped to improve operation and introduce new features. Combined with this release are a number of new Alerts.

In addition to the creation of Alerts, there is now a general Task Scheduler which can be used to automate the Propella side of Backups and for housekeeping tasks such as optimising the database and shrinking log files.

Our previous Alert system included an internal email inbox which did not require staff to have an external email application such as Outlook. We have retained this feature and now added the option to send the Alert by external email as well. This is useful for executives and sales staff away from the office.

The new Task Scheduler will show all the tasks available along with the projected schedule and a history of previous runs.

Emailed Alerts can now go directly to an IP address and do not have to be processed through Outlook or other email application program.

This procedure has now been adopted for the emailing of despatch confirmations where the operator now does not require Outlook to have this functionality.
